Brian, how did you first get involved with racing?
My Uncle, Bob Morris raced in Princeton, Bureau County Speedway.....I was on his pit crew. |
| So, why did you decide to get in the cockpit? | Honestly, I always liked driving fast, not just a little over the speed limit. You know.. the adrenaline rush...thrill thing. I figured racing was legalized speeding, so I tried it.
| Did you race against your uncle?
No. He got out of it, but he was right there for me when I got in. Actually that's how I got the #34, it was his number. |
| You've been racin' a while now, since what..1994.. What is your highlight and why? | The Mid-Season Championship win in 1997. Because I beat the points leader.. the best driver out there at the time....driving on the worst track conditions I had ever seen.
| And you lowest point?? | That would have to be the very first night in the Modified... I hit the wall going into 1, totaled the car... got hurt and had to sit out the entire season. Yea... the modified is a totally different monster.......
| So... why did you go from Street to Modified? | Competition... at the time the competition in Street was... well, let's just say it wasn't a challenge anymore...I wanted more of a challenge and the wife wouldn't let me go Late Model.
| Your wife... what does she think of your racing?
She is my biggest supporter...people may think otherwise but when it comes right down to it, she's there no matter what. She say's that racin' is an addiction... that the drivers have. She thinks I'm an addict I guess. |
| What would you like to accomplish in the Modified? | A points championship.... but that's a loaded question.... I think that's what every driver wants.
| Where is your favorite track and why? | Well..... Princeton.... it's challenging. Freeport.... the speed. Canton... that's just damn fun! |
